Week of October 28th!

We had another fun and busy week!  On Monday, we made spider webs out of paper plates and yarn.

We tried to build spiderwebs with marshmallows and toothpicks.  We ended up making all kinds of cool creations!

Shapes!

Satellites!

Houses and playgrounds!

A ferris wheel at a fair!

An ant and an ant hill!

This ant has 6 legs and 2 antennae!

It's always fun to come in on Monday and see what our new jobs are!

Chester had another fabulous weekend with one of our friends!

The Share Bag was returned with several great items that were shared with the class!

We talked about how many syllables are in each child's name.  We clapped the number of syllables for each child and then the stood in groups according to how many syllables they each had in their name:  1, 2 or 3!
One Syllable!

 Two Syllables!

 Three Syllables!

Tuesday was ORANGE day!  We started the day by signing in on an easel with an orange marker.

All Centers were ORANGE!  We learned that yellow and red make orange!  We mixed yellow and red paint at the easel to paint orange pictures!

At another center, we mixed red and yellow water with droppers in ice cube trays to make orange!  Fine motor AND color mixing fun!

We pounded golf tees into a real pumpkin with some of our wooden blocks, too!  More fine motor AND orange fun!

We were a sea of orange that day outside on the playground!

On Wednesday, we made turkeys for our November Calendars!

We also had a special visit from the Savannah Wildlife Rescue.  We learned about mammals that are indigenous to our area like possums, raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, beaver, squirrels, bats, skunks, coyotes and more! We saw some stuffed animal examples of these animals, and got to see REAL baby squirrels and a tiny baby possum, too!

Thursday, we celebrated Halloween!  (See the Halloween Post on the Blog!)

Friday was the first day of November, and it was cold outside!

We painted Fall trees with dotters, and practiced writing letters in shaving cream during Center Time.

We read the book Thanks For Thanksgiving and talked about all the things that we are thankful for!

Center  Time Fun!

And some dancing on the playground!

Our November Fundraiser!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and remembered to turn their clocks back one hour!  See you bright and early on Monday!

~Ms. Julie
